You're still singing SHOT THROUGH THE HEART in your head, aren't you!!! I arrived at work, only to be told that Michael needed me in the manager's office right away. After I arrived, he held me tight and told me that his pants were stolen out of his locked locker. It sounded funny, to think he didn't have any pants, but it was a disaster. The combination lock was gone. The thief took his nice work pants, his almost brand new specialized belt, his cell phone, all his keys, and his wallet which held $165 - most of it his birthday money. Also his handkerchief, but that wasn't such a big deal. I ended up having to cancel my classes that evening, plus my private lessons. We had to wait for the police to show up to write the report up. Took him long enough. Michael remembered his geo-thingy on his cell phone, that he could call and have the company turn it on to locate his cell phone. Turns out, they couldn't. It would take more than 24 hours to do so, and in that time all the calls made on the phone would be charged to us. So he had to turn the phone off, drat it. We were awfully worried that the thief would use Michael's car keys to steal his car. So I ran down to check on Michael's car, and make sure nothing was stolen out of it. Plus I re-checked my car, since those keys were stolen as well. They thought it might be some of the teen boys who were having fun, just spinning the combination until the lock came open. After our statement to the detective, we all came home. Knowing we'd need to call the insurance companies, I headed for the filing cabinet to look up all the numbers. On our answering machine Wachovia had called, telling us a bunch of purchases had been made on our card. It looked like someone was using it unauthorized, and could we please call them back right away to verify? I really did appreciate Wachovia looking out for us that way! I lost no time in calling all the companies to cancel everything. The list of things Michael needs replacing is rather extensive. We were really worried about our condo, because the thief has our house key and knows our address from Michael's driver's license. I don't think I got much sleep at all last night. Michael called in to work and stayed home today to get all the locks replaced on the doors, to get new cards for insurance/credit cards/store cards, get his driver's license, those sort of things. It looks like the money was run up to almost $600! Thankfully the credit card companies aren't going to make us pay for it. The detective called for the numbers on the credit cards, and he's working toward retracing the thief's steps to catch him. There were video tapes of the men's locker room door, and knowing that the thief struck sometime between 4:15 and 5:00, there is a picture of him somewhere in there. Other than that, I have not been informed of the ongoing investigation. Michael was really steamed about it, scared and mad too. Me too. The whole emotional thing is rather overwhelming. I want so badly to go out and catch the dude! Michael's made me promise I won't - he doesn't want the guy hurting me in any way. I want justice! Monday morning Nessa was taken to dance class by Angie so I could go to my interview for becoming a WSIT. Wow, it put me through the wringer. I'll next need to practice my skills, especially the diving board, so everything is up to perfect standard. After that comes the critiquing of the way I teach classes. Monday afternoon was the Shaw playdate. I was able to get a few things done and a long nap to try to catch up on my sleep. Michael stayed home Monday from totally being stressed out! Monday night he and I spent time together while Nessa was over at Angie's, before I drove to my therapy appointment. My therapist couldn't believe everything I had to do this week. Tuesday morning was the last breather I had until Sat afternoon. I think I actually tried to do some more scrapping, to finish my Grandparent's Heritage Album project. Tuesday night was work, and first day of classes, which ran me late getting home with switching the kids around until everyone was in the right class. Wednesday morning I ran down to the mall to pick up Michael's birthday DVD from Nessa as well as some scrapping supplies. That took all my time, and I didn't get a chance to buy for what else I needed. Wednesday afternoon was the last scrapbooking class at the Elementary school. It was fun to do, but it was also stressful in trying to corral active kids and took away a lot more time than I had expected. I think having Nessa there was a lot of my stress, for she needed me so often. I even "taught" her how to scrap a picture, and she had fun. She actually had more fun running up and down the halls screaming ... Wednesday night we were buying Nessa's bike for her birthday. We were over at WalMart, so I was trying to remember all the odds and ends I needed there. I REALLY need to make a list of what to do at WalMart, for my brain was on overload by the time we got out of there. We had gone out to eat at fast food to save time, and at home Michael really helped me try to do some screen captures from the impromptu movies I accidentally made at MOPS. I was supposed have been taking pictures for the scrapbook I'm making for MOPS. *whoops* *whew about getting the pictures done!* So many scrapping projects, so little time! (BTW ~ it only gets busier from here...) Thursday morning I go to get the frozen fruit bars and juice to run to Preschool for Nessa's Preschool "Birthday party" when I realize we didn't get the stuff on the approved list. (Too many allergies, we're only to get what is made of real fruit.) So I went grocery shopping Thursday morning before Preschool, dropped her off with everything and picked up the book I'm supposed to read for them that day. I really like the fact that when it's "their" day the parent can read the story to them for story-time. This happens right before the end of the day, so it just means I have to arrive 15 minutes early. Then I head out over for my yearly pap smear. Everything I did is kind of blurry here, but I do remember I had to drive back to the house for something before turning around and going back to the doctor's office. (It's about 1/4 of the way to Preschool - I drive by the office when I drive to preschool.) It was frustrating! I was afraid I'd miss my scheduled reading time; I was getting a bit frantic at the appointment. As always, I don't get in at the appointed time, and almost walked out to head back to preschool for my reading. Of course that was when the doctor showed up, and I stayed. I was told I need a mammogram now, for a baseline reading. Ugh. On my way out I dropped off the photos at the church that Michael helped me do a quick print. They needed them for the MOPS meeting on Friday morning I couldn't POSSIBLY be at! Anyway, running late, I drove back to Preschool to read the book. It was a really cool book, and the kids stayed still for the most part. Nessa sat next to me, and right after I started reading, she started playing with her nose. I ended up reading upside down, holding the book up for everyone to see the pictures, AND trying to use the kleenex on Nessa's nose at the same time. (I ended up using 3 Kleenexes ~ Whoo Hoo!) Thursday afternoon was supposed to have been the time to have the house cleaned by Angie, and I was to do the grocery run at the same time. However, Angie had to back out on me. She'd double-booked herself at that time. So I'm running around trying to straighten up the house, and Nessa DESPERATELY needs a nap. Putting her down for one, I collapsed into bed myself. That evening Michael is going to clean house (just the living room, kitchen, hallway, and bath) while Nessa came with me to work. Thursday night coming in from work, I had to drop by the deli to buy the cake for the party on Friday. The deli was closed, but thankfully they hadn't locked up my cake and the cashier was able to locate it! After all that, I had a headache. Tried to work through some paperwork, plus a few things for the party and went to bed about 11. (I ended up going to bed really late that entire week) Friday morning Michael gets up at 6:30 to go grocery shopping. Oh WOW, that was so nice of him! Friday morning Nessa gets up and is already a crank. Her naps are so short they are almost non-existent, plus a few days with no naps. Family started early from WV, so they arrived a tad early for the party. I was still trying to get everything ready when they showed up! Michael blew up the balloons with the pump while I ate breakfast. He'd even gone by McDonald's to get Nessa and I breakfast! I couldn't have made it without him!. Side note: Michael was under so much stress, at the beginning of this week he informed me he couldn't do anything for me this week. He was sorry, but he was just so burned out. So I was trying to do everything myself, and to have him do so much was absolutely wonderful! The family party was fun. Nessa loved running out to the living room from her bedroom and letting everyone yell "Surprise!" This happened several times, of course! We went out to eat out at a nice restaurant, where Nessa had a major meltdown for she wanted to go to Burger King. (They have an indoor playground.) Coming back home we barely managed to say goodbye to the family before going outside blowing bubbles and Kaela came out to join in. The other two boys that were invited were also tired and cranky, so it ended up being a rather short one hour party with the total of 4 kids. After 3:00 we (Angie, Kaela, Nessa & I) all took naps (except Michael who was working on something else at that point) and then at 5:30 left with Angie and Kaela to go watch "Robots" in the theater. It was Nessa's second experience at the movies. She did pretty well, so we're thinking maybe to do it again soon. Friday night was a meltdown with a VERY tired Nessa. Friday night I really wanted to book a class for scrapping, but backed out. Saturday of course was work. Thankfully it was the last day. By the time I left (a good hour after my last lesson!) I was as good as exhausted! I had received an invite to a book party for kids, and had to decline. Plus there was some more scrapping classes I wanted to go to, which I bowed out. So Saturday was pretty much 'catch-up physically' day. Sunday we got up, and I was still pretty wiped out. Nessa complained again about her tummy, right before she threw up at 9:00. Again at 9:30, and again at 10. We called the on-call nurse; she told us to watch and wait, and only give her sips of water. When we ended up at 4 calling the on-call doctor from our practice, Nessa had pretty much spit up every half hour; sometimes she lasted as long as an hour before spitting up. She did this the whole day. So I had to cancel playtime with the Shaws tomorrow, for fear of her getting them sick. Thankfully, God healed her and she stopped about 3:30 ~ 4:00. On her birthday, and here she was getting sick AGAIN. Since her first birthday and second birthday she was pretty healthy, and third and fourth she was sick, we're batting about 50% sick on her birthday with this child. He was the designated cleaner, so he ended up cleaning carpet, the chair, the toilet, and all the clothes from Nessa being so sick. Ain't he just wonderfully sweet? Sunday I had booked a scrapping time - I could only do 6-midnight, although it ran 12 hours from Noon-midnight. I couldn't go earlier because our church held an easter egg hunt, Resurrection Eggs, painting eggs, puppet show, games, and snack from 2-4:30 that we were going to. We'd invited Kaela to come too, but of course with Nessa sick we canceled. Monday, of course today, I hadn't been planning on getting her around any kids. But she was so active she was wearing me out just looking at her! I went ahead and took her to dance class. Right now she's with Angie and Kaela while Angie's driving, and back home she'll get a nap. I canceled the Shaw playdate yesterday in the middle of the whole sick thing, and now I wish she could have gone over. *sigh* So this morning was to be my blood sugar test, but with my infected corner of my mouth I ended up having to go to the doc to get medicines for it. Same thing that happened to me before vacation, although my doctor diagnosed it differently so I get different drugs now. I'm supposed to be finishing up on my Grandparent's Heritage Album so I can take it to them this Friday. I need time to do it! I'm also supposed to be practicing on the diving board to work on getting my WSIT going. I literally was too tired on Sat to even attempt it, much less try to attempt it on Sunday! I was supposed to have all that finished by the end of March, so I can get pushed through on the April meeting. Otherwise I'm waiting until the July meeting, and that will take a LONG time ... it'll be easier if I can get through in the Spring with all the WSI classes being held I can observed and teach, than to try to get in classes in the Summer, Fall and Winter with little, if any, classes being taught. Tonight Michael and I are getting together to actually sit down and TALK. The only talking I've done recently is to tell him what's coming up next. Tonight is also therapist night, so we don't get the full night together after all. Tomorrow morning is Preschool. I'm also thinking I'll do the fasting sugar test then, while Nessa is in Preschool. Wednesday is Nessa's 4 year checkup. Thursday, as well as Preschool, the door is getting done again. We were promised it would be finished by Sat Mar 5. Now we're told a different story - that we had to make a new appointment! Angie and I are tag teaming so I can be here when she's working, she's here when I go pick up Nessa, and I can be here when she goes back to work. The doors have to stay open quite a while before the paint dries, which is a nuisance, a stink, and a total bother. It will be easier going out the back during that time. Speaking of the back door, Michael did some house projects this weekend. He installed a new back door lock. He also worked on getting Nessa's blinds to block out the sunlight in the afternoon. We're thinking it's the sun that's keeping her room so bright that makes her naps rather short. He's also fixed the master toilet flusher. A quick look ahead: Tuesday and Thursday morning Preschool. Hoping to get done a few of my doc appointments at that time. (Mammogram, blood sugar test, thyroid sonogram) Wednesday is Nessa's appointment. I'm thinking of taking all of the afternoons for naps to try to get Nessa back up to her cheery self. Evenings: Monday - Michael and I, then therapist, Tuesday & Thursday - work. Friday - leaving to go to NC for Spring Break. I'll be down there until the following Saturday, so I can be back here for Easter. Sorry this is all jumbled up. Took me about an hour and a half to write, since I went back time and again to fill in a few details and such. It would take even longer to straighten it all out, and since Nessa will be here any minute, I GTG! This was an email I wrote to some friends to keep them in the loop of my life. Thought I'll go ahead and post it here too, even though I've written much about this previously too. **************************************** Tonight is the first free night in I don't know when. Hubby is outside blowing bubbles with Nessa, so I don't know how long I can be on computer. First off, my procedure in January was a success with only a couple of hitches. We found out that I have a Factor 7 Deficiency (sp?) Effectively, Factor 7 tells Factor 8 & Factor 9 to clot blood so a person doesn't bleed much for bruising, scraps, etc. With only a little Factor 7, Factors 8 & 9 don't clot, so I have a tendency to have huge bruises (and they are sore too!) and bleeding that won't clot easily. It turns out it's hereditary, and all I need is a shot of Factor 7 before and after surgery so I can clot. It looks like my brother has it as well; he hadn't really thought much of his bruising until all of this came up with me. Momma may have it too, because she really bruises badly. So now I can swallow pills and food. :-D :-D :-D Since I was off my depression meds for so long I was at the point I couldn't get out of bed unless Nessa pulled me out. I think my meds have caught up to me now, plus they were increased, so I'm really starting to feel great emotionally. Sleep is a bit of a problem with the hyped up meds. :-( Still working on that. Nessa ended up getting a spot for a 3 year old preschool at the beginning of March. She loves it, and I think it's great for her socialization. She is starting to get into trouble with Brian, for it seems they hit each other. Miss Julie (teacher) thinks they like each other and don't know how to deal with it. Ironically, Brian's birthday was this past Sunday, and Nessa's is tomorrow. My baby is turning 4! We had a couple of parties yesterday, the morning one for family and the afternoon one for Nessa's friends. Then after a quick nap we took her out to see a movie last night. Second movie in her life. Last day of the Saturday session was today; it's always hectic. I really messed up by not having my paperwork, so I had to get my classes covered and run home to get it. I'm glad I did. This past Tuesday was the first day of the new Tues/Thurs session, and I'm looking forward to teaching everyone I have. I'm also looking into becoming a WSIT - basically, it means I would be a trainer for new swim instructors for Red Cross. I think it would be great and cool, and since I love teaching aides and teachers (unofficially) through work anyway, this way I'd be official. :-) Going through each of the steps is a bit time consuming and arduous. I have to practice my skills (including the diving board) until I'm perfect. The diving board is my weak area. :-( I should practice my other skills to get it going perfect once more. :-D Hubby is stressed to the gills in trying to take care of Nessa and me while I've been depressed. I need to take a bit of care with him for a while, and next week I'm going on spring vacation. Sorry about not typing here for a bit, was trying to figure out what's going on in the CATS RPG board. In my personal life I'm stressed to the gills because I've got too much stuff scheduled at the same time. Friday is both Birthday Parties, Michael & Nessa. It's ... interesting... having birthdays on the 11 and the 13 of March. Going to cut back on things. Nessa just started Preschool 3 year old. There was an opening in the Preschool the first of March. I had shown up to sign up for a possible time slot in the fall for 4 year old, and got this call for 3 year old this spring. She's going Tuesday & Thursday mornings from 9:15-noon. I'm working on trying to get stuff accomplished during that time. HA! Oops, time ran out. I wanna talk more! Oh well. Still trying to work out the dates for Nessa, that Daddy has a birthday BEFORE hers, and that she won't be 3, but will be turning 4. Doing a Blue's Clues Birthday (combined) Parties, similar to last years. In the morning 10-12:30 it will be family, first Michael's, then Nessa's, before eating. This year it looks like we'll go out to eat instead of getting carry out. Of course back here for cake and blowing out of the candles, then ice cream. :-) Chocolate cake, since Nessa ordered it. Afternoon 1-3 we'll hopefully have 3 (maybe 4) other kids here to play. Going to try for coloring a bit, Pin the Flag on Mailbox, snacks (fruit plate), Pinata, and the last will probably be Joe's Birthday Surprise - I think it lasts about 23 min or so. When my life calms down enough for me to type exactly what's going on, I will. (I hope) The flu going around here is the high fever one, although that one's almost gone. Now it's the upper respiratory thing. Considering Nessa got the high fever one a good month ago, I think we might be immunized against it. I'm just hoping all these coughs in my face at the pool isn't going to give me the respiratory one! Have got quite a lot done recently considering my depression before that. Made sure the new jewelry was insured (run the papers over and show the tanzinite necklace to him), been running around like crazy to buy a purple pony from McD's, but no one around here has ANY ponies left. I'm at the point I'm showing up to try to buy one from the case itself, when they swap over to the new toy collection. I hadn't realized just how much the ponies would bring Nessa joy, and the purple one that was stolen from her in McDonald's really upsets her. Made calls to have an appointment to work out the medications, to have the door painted for both us and Angie (neighbor) from our condo association, and to get back to the insurance person to discuss something. Called Jimmy for his birthday today, and Michael called me (to make sure I've taken my meds). He really has been helping a LOT with keeping me keep tabs of my medicine. Yesterday Angie cleaned the house while I filled out those annoying papers that creep up and have to be dealt with. Plus a few necessary calls. I dropped off the dry cleaning, read a book (while Nessa wore herself out at McD's), ran a God Mission, bought another silver pen for scrapbooking my grandparents Heritage Album, taught the scrapbooking class (kids up and running about still getting under my skin) and came home to go out to eat with Michael's parents over at Bob Evans. After they left and Nessa went to bed (no nap for her yesterday) early, Michael and I was able to have a bit of time together. That was nice. Monday we went grocery shopping, and at this point I can't honestly remember what else we did on Monday, or Tuesday either. Well, Tuesday night was work for me, and I forgot my clipboard for the second time in a row! Saturday when I found out I didn't have it, Michael read the names off of each class so I'd at least have that! Tuesday he ran out to the car and brought it in for me. Ain't he SWEET? And oh yeah, some evening this past week I went all out and Michael and I had a TOTALLY WONDERFUL SENSES EXPERIENCE in the bedroom. I think both of us are smiling about that still .... and sometimes I can't look at Michael and help just grinning or giggling. That's all I'm going to say about that. :-D :-D :-D :-D Last Wednesday at my therapy I hit a breakthrough, came home and told Michael some rather harsh things. I hurt him very badly. Friday at MOPS we had a WONDERFUL speaker on talking about men, especially husbands. It really turned my head around. Plus we did goody bags for our hubbies. EXTRA*bg* Michael's really working on taking us all to Sunday School. *bg* Unfortunately this past Sunday I was soooo cold, and didn't feel well. We got home, and after warming up, eating and a nap, I felt MUCH better. Poor hubby. He's really been hard at work trying to take care of me and Nessa, because I was having problems just talking with her. I've kept up cooking (except for all those McD's runs where we're STILL trying to get Nessa ponies). And it's been a bit of a variety. Good prayer warriors are praying for me, and it's been great. I feel so good! Technically, with my meds, I shouldn't be feeling better until the beginning of March. God is really blessing me, and I'm trying to bless and help Michael feel better. God and the Dog A dog had followed his owner to school. His owner was a fourth grader at a public elementary school. However, when the bell rang, the dog sidled inside the building and made it all the way to the child's classroom before a teacher noticed and shoo'ed him outside, closing the door behind him. The dog sat down, whimpered and stared at the closed doors. Then God appeared beside the dog, patted his head, and said, "Don't feel bad lil'fella".... "they won't let ME in either." Christmas pictures for everything was either videotaped or taken on the digital. I've found I'm extremely lazy in getting pics made from the digital. I've still got the pictures from last year's Daddy/Nessa Birthday parties I hadn't had made yet! Considering it's about 29 cents a photo, I have to save up tons of $$ to get all the photos I want printed. Well, now Michael's working on printing photos off our own printer, with the special photo paper. I went through about 20+ photos, and completely went through my color ink cartridge. Is it cheaper to get them printed somewhere else? Weekends for us seem to be hectic. I'm working Saturday mornings (up until 12:30 now), so that effectively shoots the day. I do wear out more from teaching now. I know part of that is because I'm not in shape more, and possibly because I'm still depressed. Several weeks ago Michael and I started the "3 positive - 1 work on" program. One spouse would tell the other spouse 3 things that s/he admires about the spouse. Then s/he would tell the spouse one thing for the spouse to work on for the next 2 weeks, because the next week the shoe is on the other foot. Michael started the first week, I went the second, he went the third, etc. It was working pretty well until my depression was so low I could barely get out of bed and I couldn't do what Michael was asking. So I asked if we could put it on hold until I'm able to really work on our marriage. This is working very nicely. Michael (& next door neighbor Angie) heard it over the Christian radio on a talk show. One of the things I've asked Michael is if he could be proactive in getting us all to church (and Sunday School). So we'll be back in a regular schedule soon. A couple of weeks ago I was so depressed I just huddled in my bed and couldn't go to church. Sad. I don't know if I have mentioned my neighbors. They have become very close to us. Angie is the single mother, Kaela is the daughter who is now 5. Kaela and Nessa are best friends, almost like sisters. Angie and I have spent a lot of time together, and she's really been helping me with my life, mostly by praying. I haven't seen such a strong Christian in quite some time, and it's rather refreshing to hear her cut the crap and go to the heart of the matter. Plus we feed them pizza and she feeds us quite a number of different dishes, none of which I'm familiar with cooking. Angie loves to cook, and we love to eat them. Superbowl. Well.... technically, we watched it, but to tell the truth I have no idea how the teams did. We only watch for the commercials. Angie and I got together on Monday to compare which one was our favorite commercial. There were some good ones, but not any that really stuck out as excellent, unless you count the one to the military. BTW ~ The ones we liked were (in no particular order) 1. military salute 2. Bride catching Groom watching game with Tostitos 3. Chimp on banana with Verizon 4. Guy on phone talking "You're Getting Robbed!" by mortgage company 5. Guy frozen at wheel of convertible in middle of winter (Angie liked it, I didn't. Thought it was too morbid!). There were a few others I wrote down, but they were minor. About my car - while in NC I went ahead and got the oil, and filters changed and had him look over my brakes. He couldn't find anything wrong, but the odd thing is they don't shimmy like they did. Michael's thinking it might be the ALB. I'm easier on them now, but last night was a sudden stop and no shimmy there either. Mechanic did find the fan belt to be completely rotten, so I'm rather glad I took the car to him. Michael and I aren't using the accountant from the last several years. We feel he cheated us last year, so this year we're going to H&R Block for their "review" of last years taxes for free. Otherwise we're thinking of using the online Tax service. But we definitely want last year's return looked over, and corrected. Because I feel the accountant did us wrong, we definitely won't be going back to him! For valentine's day I cooked Michael supper. The first time I've cooked in I don't know when. Michael got so stuffed, and happy. I was glad for that. Angie and Kaela gave us a Valentine cake, so we've got dessert for a while. |
